Jil Sander Does Uniqlo, We Muse On What The Designs Will Look Like

jil-sander-uniqlo
This morning, WWD reported that Jil Sander, who's been rumored to make a design comeback (some speculated for her eponymous line), has now signed a "design consulting agreement" with Japanese clothing empire Uniqlo, in addition to developing a special Uniqlo collection. The queen of '90s high fashion minimalism meets the king of high-street minimalism? Sounds like a match made in style heaven. Though Raf Simons has helmed the house since 2005, we took a trip back in time to bring you some looks from Jil's past collections, which include simple, dreamy dresses, a cool and comfy pair of cotton shorts, and a sleeveless biker vest that preempted Alex Wang's hot-to-trot 2008 version. Will Jil turn out similar goods for Uniqlo? Slouchy sweaters, tailored skirts, pretty frocks? Yes, please!
